We are out of Canada, and we are free, we think!
The hit contracts on Pierre Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, and the contract to kill Fidel Castro, in Canada, at Trudeau's Funeral, were still fresh in my mind. Incidentally, Meyer was right, on this Trudeau/Castro hit, Fidel Castro came to Canada and was a pall bearer for Pierre Trudeau, when Trudeau died of natural causes in early 2000! I would like to have hit Trudeau and Castro, but I am here writing this News Blog because the commission had the good sense to pull me out. Yes, I would have gotten Trudeau, no problem. I do not, in all honesty, believe anyone could have gotten Fidel Castro at the State Funeral. There would have been about 100 nations represented, including the USA, and The Soviet Union. Canada was The Soviet Unions largest trading partner, in spite of being on the border of the United States! Fidel would have had snipers at every location, as would the KGB, and the Secret Service and the RCMP. The Canadian S A S are not that shabby, and it was their ground. The RCMP would have been so furious at loosing Trudeau that they would have been everywhere. Meyer had sent me on a suicide mission and I was a little mad at that fact. I expressed this satisfaction to nobody. Although I loved Paul Di Cocco Sr., as an older brother, I never told him everything. I'm sure he never told me everything either, but he would prove his loyalty to me later in life in 1982. I always knew Paul was a standup guy, but what he did for a young man, who would eventually have rank, was very touching. I always think of Paul with affection. I liked his brother Dulio (Jake) a lot, but we were not close. We had lunch sometimes, but I was a member and Jake was an associate. He always wondered why and I don't blame him. He supported Paul financially, right to Paul's death. Jake actually controlled all the money but was not a Syndicate member or even a Bonono Associate! He was a wealthy book maker and Paul's best friend! I will tell some nice stories about these two brothers at another time. They also had wonderful wives, the kind of wives who stood loyal to the end. I respected them also. With the hits in Canada now over due to a call back! I went back to work hi-jacking around the state once a month. I also sold my heroin for good money wholesale, as I did every fall. I had 4 free kilo's this year, so I only worked 2 days a month on Theft. In the trades I was called a "BUST OUT." I never went long term on anything. I am sorry to this day that I did not keep 43 Fuller Road in the Town of Colonie, N.Y. It was the best nite club set up in the area. Paul had a 15% interest in the Club but never set foot in it! He hated late night's! I took a lousy Million plus net out of it in cash, and keyed the door. It was not even in foreclosure yet. I paid my help in cash, used hot liquor from Carlo Spano's Liquor store in Guilderland, N.Y., did not pay any sales tax, (we paid very little, but sent it in on time) paid no federal anything, paid all my advertising outlets, but never paid Manufacturers Hanover Bank a dime for 3.5 years. I probably could have rolled it over, but I carry some bad baggage with me and sometimes make too quickly a decision. I locked up the club on Thanksgiving Eve 1979. I should have kept going to New Year. The Liquor Authority was going to give me a fine and a suspension on the First, but I should have re-opened in the spring. I managed to walk away with a few million but would regret not working because I was a degenerate, (heavy) gambler and spent too much when on a loosing streak. Meyer would die soon in the early eighty's, but I was already on my own, using the Lansky Group Name, always, because I was now a reputed enforcer (reputed) for lack of any other slogan. I am getting ahead of myself and should stick to the horrible new revelation that Meyer wanted. I would not be happy nor would Mr. Brown in Chicago! Sincerely big mike craft
